Gooding Middle School
Written by Cora Caldwell Monday, 19 March 2012 14:28
While the elementary students were entertained with Fractured Fairytales at the spring Family Read Night held at GEMS Library on March 15, Middle School students spent the evening testing their quick recall memory for the Mind Boggler Trivia Contest. Some of the questions were provided by middle school teachers. Our celebrated M.C. was our very own Mr. Hardcastle. He fired off questions about Gooding government, school history and personnel as well as book characters, library information, math problems, confusing riddles, history questions and sports trivia. Mr. Hardcastle kept the contestants on their toes, ready with their buzzers. By using the buzzer system from GHS, we were able to allow the quickest thumbs to stop the other contestants cold. After each five-minute questioning round, the winning students were rewarded with their choice of book.
A big “Thank You!” goes out to the Idaho Dairy Council for providing the milk for our Milk & Cookies night-time snack. We would like to thank Mr. Hardcastle, Mrs. Caldwell, Mrs. Rogers, Mrs. Miller and all the other adults, Reading Club members and volunteers who helped us make the evening fun; while we learned interesting as well as silly facts.
