Eleven elementary students achieved the highest recognition in the Presidential Physical Fitness Awards program this year at Gooding Elementary School. These students earned the President Physical Fitness Award by scoring 85% or better on each test in the battery. The tests include, one minute of curl ups (abdominal strength) sit and reach (flexibility), shuttle Run (agility), pull ups (upper body strength), and the Mile Run (endurance). To qualify for the President’s award a student must achieve an 85% or better on each of the tests. The scoring is on a national percentile by both age and gender.
Earning their first Presidential Physical Fitness Award: are Genevieve Fager, 1st grade, Armondo Hernandez, Ellie Stockham, Stetson Moskovita, 2nd grade, Shelby Nebeker, 3rd grade and Grace Parker, 4th grade. Earning the Presidents Award for the second year are Owen Rogers, 2nd grade, Gracie Faulkner , 3rd grade, Wacey Williams, 4th grade. Third year recipient is Dallin Price, 4th grade. Earning her fourth President’s Physical Fitness Award in as many years is 4th grader Riley Comstock.
Earning National Physical Fitness Award Recipients, scoring 50% or better on each test in the battery are by grade level are as follows:
