Locks for Love
Written by Dr. Heather Williams Thursday, 07 January 2010 00:00
During the GMS assembly, superintendent, Dr. Heather Williams allowed her ponytail to be cut off – cutting nearly 10 inches of her hair off – to raise awareness for cancer, cancer treatment, and Locks for Love. Gooding Elementary School student, Korah Hilt, has been running a yearlong campaign to collect ponytails for Locks for Love. The district goal is to gather 40 ponytails this school year for Locks for Love, and we are almost a quarter of the way there. Dr. Williams donated her hair to help motivate students to take up the cause. Many students have since pledged their ponytails and we will be having another haircutting event for this cause in 2010.
